Heritage
is all those things that make us the people and province we
are. Saskatchewan
is a great place to live.
The
Architectural Heritage Society is a provincial, membership-based
organization and registered charity. We are both catalyst
and communicator for preservation and promotion of our built
historic and cultural heritage.
The
Society is governed by an active provincial membership of
individuals and families, enterprises and community-based
organizations devoted to conservation. We collaborate with
community, business and government to implement policies, programs
and projects that foster conservation. We publish a newsmagazine
called Heritage Quarterly Saskatchewan and maintain this
website. We administer grant funding to help defray the cost of
restoration projects and community-based forums, publications and
other activities. And we arrange and adjudicate the
Lieutenant Governor's Heritage Architecture Excellence Awards held
at Government House in Regina each year.
Conservation
of historic structures and places provides helpful lessons about
the past. Our built heritage is disappearing every day. We
must act now to preserve and protect this significant and
endangered aspect of our province's history for future
generations.
Please
note that the Society is a Registered Charitable Organization and
may issue tax credits for monetary donations. we
